![]() Shall we address the ‘Lasting’ element? I rarely set this foundation with powder (don’t want to dull the beautiful) and it never moves. Thankfully, I’ve had no issues, I assume the silicone acts as an occlusive to keep things hydrated, but ultra sensitive skins be warned. Neither foundation accentuates the mild flakiness that I occasionally suffer ( Mandelic Peel… looking at you).īoth formulations are oil-free but include alcohol and fragrance. Lasting also has a silicone heavy formula (as discussed above) to create the illusion of pore-less-ness. Let’s zoom in on that before and after, to get a better idea of the coverage Lasting provides. Lasting Silk offers a tad more coverage than Luminous but still within the medium range, any blemishes require a concealer and my irksome rosiness still peaks through, somewhat. I’m back with that vague ‘ blurring’ buzzword again, as it is even more pronounced in the Lasting formulation – it makes my skin look soft and supple and almost angelic (maybe I’m getting carried away here but you get the gist). I hear some people refer to this as matte and I disagree, it never appears flat or dull. While Luminous Silk is veers on dewy, Lasting has a distinct satin finish. It’s some sort of perfect unicorn, y’know? The end. Something about the way it diffuses light, she said. I once worked with an incredible makeup artist who specialised in television makeup and she claimed that nothing photographed better. One final note on Luminous Silk – it photographs beautifully. I own Luminous Silk in shade #5 and while it is a decent match, I would prefer a slightly more yellow undertone (for reference, I believe I’m somewhere between an NC20-25 but don’t quote me on that). If your skin is more combination to oily, I predict that you will have longevity issues.Īrmani foundation shades work like this: full numbers are more neutral and 0.5 shades tend to be warmer. I am normal-skinned and have found that Luminous Silk lasts a full 15 hours without a setting powder, no unsightly melting around the face. I hate the term ‘built-in-primer’ (hello marketing) but I guess it sort of functions that way, as most primers are comprised of silicone. ![]() This silicone additive allows Luminous to glide on, concealing minor textural issues and omitting the need for a primer. Hence, if your skin is sensitive to silicones, both Luminous and Lasting are going to wreak havoc. The texture is a slippery liquid, a sure sign of a silicone heavy formula. The soft-focus quality I spoke about earlier? This has it, that’s what initially drew me in. Coverage can be sheered out to almost nothing or built up to a fuller medium. Perhaps the most raved about Armani product- this can be classified as an oil free yet dewy finish foundation. Can you detect a difference? We’ll discuss it more later. Lasting Silk on your the left half, Luminous Silk on the right half. Do your best not to observe: any bruising around the eye. Observe: problem areas around the nose and apples of the cheeks, where we can see some localised redness. These photos were taken in natural (and notoriously unflattering) daylight with no flash, no primer, no powder and no concealer. I figure, after three years, I’m finally qualified to write this review. I figured it would be a good idea to compare Lasting and Luminous because they’re both awesome but hopefully, this would provide some clarity as to why I’ve found Lasting Silk to be awesome-er. The exception is Maestro, which entirely missed the boat (my boat, anyway). ![]() I don’t pretend to fully understand the science behind it but all I can say is: these offer that soft focus, imperfection-blurring effect that is so sought after. What sets Armani bases apart from other foundations is that they’ve perfected the concept of light bouncing pigment. I’ve been using the latter religiously for three years and I think it’s perfect in almost every way, the fact that I continue to try other options is a matter of insanity. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk was my holy grail foundation for yonks… until I discovered Armani Lasting Silk. I had some sort of strange anxiety about writing this review – how could I convey the magic of my holy grail foundation? What if my vocabulary fails me? What if this becomes a novel in which I confuse the crap out of everyone? Beauty-blogger-first-world-problems (BBFWP).

One shining moment villanova2/12/2024 ![]() For all the regular-season accolades that the Cavaliers have racked up under Bennett, his team has a history of bowing out early in the NCAA tournament. So why does it feel like he still has so much left to prove? The answer to that question is simultaneously obvious and derived from the widespread belief that college basketball success can be achieved during only one month of the calendar year. How Tony Bennett Turned Virginia Into College Basketball’s Spurs NCAA Tournament Bracket Breakdown: The Good, Bad, and Matchups That Must Happen No matter what else happens from here, the vision Bennett shared at his introductory press conference in 2009- when he said, “It’s not about building a great team, but about building a program that lasts”-has been realized. The AP poll, the RPI, KenPom, and now the NCAA tournament selection committee have all reached the same conclusion: The best team in college basketball during the 2017-18 season was Bennett’s. 1 overall seed for the first time in school history. And on Sunday, he earned the crown jewel on his coaching résumé, as the 2018 NCAA tournament bracket was revealed and Virginia (31-2) was named the no. Plenty of idiot sportswriters will argue that Bennett still lacks the “wow” factor, but his results speak for themselves. (He also took home a USBWA award at Washington State in 2007.) He’s even built a program deemed worthy of a Jordan Conn feature. He’s been named ACC coach of the year three times and captured two USBWA national coach of the year awards. He’s won three of the past five ACC regular-season titles and two of the past five conference tournaments. The coach has lifted a formerly dormant Virginia program to heights it hasn’t experienced in more than three decades. Nine years later, I’m pretty sure Virginia fans wouldn’t hesitate to sign a petition calling for the removal of the Thomas Jefferson statue on campus so that a Bennett statue 10 times its size could be erected in its place. Not long after that, the first quote in the Times-Dispatch article comes from an unnamed Virginia fan, who said that Bennett “might turn out to be a great coach, but he is hardly the home run that we were looking for. I didn’t make it past the first sentence:ĬHARLOTTESVILLE - The University of Virginia has its next men’s basketball coach, and he’s not Minnesota’s Tubby Smith or Oklahoma’s Jeff Capel or Texas’ Rick Barnes or LSU’s Trent Johnson. Just read the Richmond Times-Dispatch article announcing Bennett’s move to UVA and see how far you can get before laughing. It makes sense, then, why his hiring left many Virginia fans underwhelmed. ![]() Bennett was 39 years old at the time and had been a Division I head coach for only three seasons, compiling a nice but unspectacular 69-33 record at Washington State. The University of Virginia hired Tony Bennett to be its head basketball coach on March 30, 2009. Teen counseling2/12/2024 She adds: “It has great self-paced options and resources too.” has a program specifically designed to help you develop healthy tools to manage your anger. “Online-Therapy specifically uses CBT for mental health treatment, which is evidence-based in helping people overcome anger issues,” says Marschall. The company’s therapeutic approach, based on cognitive behavioral therapy, also caught our eye. We also appreciated that our providers offered thoughtful responses and we felt that our sessions were productive overall. While we did not use the platform specifically for anger management, we found the therapy sessions to be practical, focusing on solutions to current issues. We were impressed that the company provides an unusually comprehensive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based approach to therapy, offering not only therapy sessions but worksheets, journals, readings, activities, and even yoga to help you continue your anger management journey outside of sessions. We had five people from California, Pennsylvania, Michigan, South Dakota, and New York try out. If you are looking for support for anger management, read on to learn which resource is the best fit for your needs. We’ve tested 80 online therapy companies and researched a dozen more that cater specifically to anger management. That’s why we evaluated online resources for anger management with the help of three licensed therapists and chose the best programs based on price, accessibility, insurance acceptance, and platforms available. But it can be hard to choose the best program for you. The best online anger management resources will help you learn to recognize what triggers your anger, when it becomes problematic, and how to manage your emotions more healthily. “Online therapy is convenient because you don't have to travel to your therapist's office, has the added privacy of not having to wait in a waiting room with other clients, and saves time and money on commuting.” However, if your anger is related to complex mental health issues, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, in-person therapy may be a better fit. “Research shows that online therapy has comparable outcomes to in-person therapy as far as alleviating mental health symptoms and treatment outcomes,” says Amy Marschall, PsyD, a subject matter expert. In many cases, there’s likely an online anger management therapy resource that can help. Perhaps your anger is a symptom of underlying stress, trauma, or another mental health issue-and if so, a mental health professional could help diagnose and treat you. Maybe you need to complete an anger management course to comply with a court order, or you want to do some self-help work independently. ![]() But other times, our anger can be much more intense than the situation warrants, or may even drive us to act out in unhealthy ways. ![]() Everyone feels angry sometimes-it’s a natural emotion that is sometimes healthy and adaptive, serving to warn us of unsafe or unfair situations, or when it’s time to take some space. Steve downie salary history2/11/2024 ![]() Downie was immediately assigned to Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, before he was recalled and made his Lightning debut in a 4–2 defeat against the Minnesota Wild on November 28, 2008. On November 7, 2008, Downie was traded by the Flyers to the Tampa Bay Lightning, along with Steve Eminger, in exchange for defenceman Matt Carle. In the following season, 2008–09, Downie initially made the Flyers' opening night roster before being later demoted to Phantoms. Immediately placed on the Avalanche's top line alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog, Downie provided instant success and coincidentally became the first Avalanche player since Theoren Fleury in 1999 to score seven points in his first four games with the club. The next day, Downie made his Avalanche debut in a 4–1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Whilst in the final year of his contract, and with the Lightning under-performing, Downie was traded to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenceman Kyle Quincey, who was himself traded later that same day to the Detroit Red Wings, on February 21, 2012. Sqlite autoincrement primary keys2/11/2024 ![]() Finally, we printed the id of the user, which is automatically generated by SQLAlchemy and is equal to 1. We then create a Session object from the sessionmaker function and use it to create a new User object with a name of 'John Doe.' We add the user to the session and commit the changes. In this example, we first create an engine object that connects to an SQLite database file. ![]() Here's an example: from sqlalchemy import create_engineĮngine = create_engine( 'sqlite:///example.db') SQLAlchemy will automatically generate an ID for us. To insert data into a table with an autoincrement ID, we don't need to specify a value for the id column. We also define a name column that is a String type. In this example, we define a User table with an id column that is an Integer type, is the primary_key, and has autoincrement enabled. Id = Column(Integer, primary_key= True, autoincrement= True) Here's an example: from sqlalchemy import Column, Integer, Stringįrom import declarative_base To define a table with an autoincrement ID in SQLAlchemy, we can use the Column class with the primary_key and autoincrement arguments. Defining a Table with an Autoincrement ID In this blog post, we'll explore how to use autoincrement IDs in SQLAlchemy schema definitions and inserts. SQLAlchemy, a popular Python SQL toolkit, provides built-in support for autoincrement IDs. One way to do this is by using autoincrement IDs. When working with a database, creating tables with unique identifiers for each row is often necessary. Calibre bossnut suspension mountain bike2/11/2024 ![]() ![]() Ritchey supply the cockpit, with a 760mm wide Trail bar and a 70-80mm 4Axis stem. WTB also supply the rubber, with a chunky 2.3” Vigilante up front and a faster rolling Beeline out the back. Shimano Deore hubs are a solid choice and are laced to WTB tubeless ready rims. Wheels, just like forks and shocks, are often compromised at this price point but again it is hard to argue with what is standard spec here. Brakes are Shimano Deore (also a pick in the 2017 Dirt 100) and it’s good to see a 180mm rotor up front – you’ll need it on this bike. While bikes such as the Marin Hawk Hill have gone for a single ring transmission, Calibre have stuck with a double chainset and this is arguably a choice which buyers at this price would be looking for. It’s Shimano throughout with the gearing with a full 2×10 speed Deore set-up, with a ‘Shadow Plus’ clutch rear mech. With sorted geometry, excellent suspension and three realistic sizes, Calibre have done a great job with the frame. This is an area that is often compromised on sub £1500 bikes, with cheap rear shocks and steel-legged coil sprung forks giving compromised control. With quality air-sprung suspension front and rear (RockShox Sektor fork and Monarch R shock) it’s easy to tune to get the settings right for you – plus there are rebound adjustment dials on both units and a lockout on the fork. “The numbers all add up well on paper and the Bossnut doesn’t disappoint on the trail” The wheelbase and bottom bracket heights are bang on and work well with the large volume WTB tyres that are standard spec. The Bossnut’s aluminium frame has been designed around a slack 67° head angle, and has a reasonably lengthy reach, placing you in a balanced position on the bike. If you’re not going for the larger 29” wheels on your trail bike it seems that the recipe of 130mm of travel and 27.5”/650B wheels can make a very sweet combination.
